Cowboy is CHANGE's most severe starvation case to date. Relinquished in January, 2008, Cowboy was severely emaciated and not expected to live when he was transported to a CHANGE foster barn. He survived several weeks of tenuous, 24-hour care with a medically supervised re-feeding plan, surprising his foster barn with his will to live. Cowboy is an off-track Thoroughbred who is now a playful, chubby fellow. He was adopted by a San Francisco woman and now makes his home in Glen Ellen, CA. |
