"BOBBY"

July 22, 2008
Bobbie was turned out with his new best friend today.... an 11 year old Tennessee Walker that lost his 25 year old pasture
buddy yesterday. All is well. They were turned out together this morning, they kissed and ran off. They have a nice large
area to play and seem to be getting along great. Another great success story.

"BOBBY'S STORY"
|
|
Bobby is a sweet, personable and very friendly 19 year old Thoroughbred gelding. The story of his life is not a rosey one,
until NOW! He was raced on the track until the age of 3, and then fell victim to an animal hoarder who kept him in
deplorable conditions for 16 years. He lived in a filthy 24x12 pipe paddock and was fed surplus outdated bread and
moldy rotting produce that the owner took from the dumpsters at a local grocery store. He never had foot care and as a
result, has developed some arthritis over the years. The owner also did not address an eye infection that Bobby had many
years ago, and as a result, he is blind in his left eye. But despite these setbacks, Bobby remains and bright and jovial
horse. He gets along perfectly with other horses and will make a great pasture buddy. He is level headed and definitely
shows his thanks for those who are helping him by giving friendly nudges and whinnying when a friend approaches.
Through the CHANGE program, Bobby has been given complete veterinary care including dental work, vaccines, deworming, foot
care, and refeeding to a healthy weight.
